HW-511 TCRT5000 Infrared Line Tracking Sensor Module

The HW-511 TCRT5000 Infrared Line Tracking Sensor Module is a high-speed reflective infrared sensor designed for line following, edge detection, and surface recognition applications in robotics and automation. The module is based on the TCRT5000 infrared reflective sensor, which integrates an infrared emitter and phototransistor to detect the difference in reflected IR light from black and white surfaces. The sensor continuously emits infrared light and measures the reflected signal from the target surface. Dark surfaces absorb infrared light and produce minimal reflection, while light-colored surfaces reflect more infrared light. Based on this reflection, the module generates a digital HIGH or LOW output, enabling accurate line detection and object presence sensing. The module features an onboard comparator circuit that delivers a clean TTL-compatible digital output and is compatible with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, STM32, Raspberry Pi Pico, AVR, PIC, and other microcontroller platforms. The module provides a 3-pin interface, where VCC supplies power (3.3V–5V DC), GND is the ground connection, and DO (Signal) outputs the digital detection signal.
